Change the way you dive and become a better diver and dive buddy with the PADI Rescue Diver course. Learn to identify and resolve minor issues before they become big problems during the dive. It’s a challenging but very rewarding course, as it will provide you with all the knowledge you need to handle almost any emergency. On this course, you’ll learn and practise with your dive instructor the required skills, such as self-rescue, recognising and managing stress in other divers, rescuing panicked and unresponsive divers, and how to use an emergency oxygen kit, among others. You start by registering with PADI eLearning online for the knowledge development portion of the course. This course is your first step in your preparation for a scuba diving career.

Be prepared when an emergency or accident happens. The Emergency First Response is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course. You’ll be provided with self-study materials, videos, and quick reference cards to help you with your studies. You’ll learn useful life-saving skills that you can apply to any emergency. You will undergo training on the correct CPR procedure, BLS (Basic Life Support), rescue breathing, and optional AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use. This course will also cover the use of barriers to reduce disease transmission, preventing and caring for shock, spinal injury management, basic First Aid and First Aid kit considerations. By the end of the course, you will have the know-how and confidence to respond to emergencies and apply first aid responses to those in need.
